Guidelines for goods – Finland to African countries

New important guidelines have been issued regarding cargoes transported from Finland and imported to countries in the African continent.

Effective from March 2016 – new rules and regulations in cargo acceptance have been issued by the authorities SYKE (Suomen Ympäristökeskus/Finnish Environment Institute) in co-operation with the Finnish customs authorities.

It is very important that you are familiar with the new guidelines from SYKE. If you are shipping used vehicles, used car parts or used electronics it is now important that you have a proof of functionality for each shipped item.

According to the new rules the proof of functionality has to be written by a certified professional. The actual guidelines can be found on the following website and we highly recommend that you read through them when planning to ship:

Please click this link.

With any booked transports and shipments to Africa the following document must be downloaded, printed out and completed:

DOCUMENT – NEW Guidelines and regulations for Africa shipments

Once completed the Guidelines document must be sent back via E-mail, Fax or post to the office in Finland before Export of the cargo can begin
