Weather warnings across North Europe

G-Solutions would like to inform all it’s customers, partners and agents that the unusual weather faced in North Europe is playing havoc with some ports, ships and terminal services.

A number of facilities in Ireland and the UK have been closed yesterday afternoon / early this morning with no prospects of opening times being advised as yet. The Met Office in the UK issued an unprecedented red weather warning for Scotland indicating an immediate danger for life. The same red warning was issued by Met Eireann for Ireland from today pm, in force until at least Friday 15:00.

In Rotterdam and in Antwerp, productivity at some terminals is down to three moves per hour, caused by high winds and frozen lashing equipment.

Consequentially, some services will change from their pro-forma; delays and port/terminal omissions are likely.

Please ensure to keep eye on daily schedules for further information and contact Global Freight Solutions for updates in connection with any current shipments.
